Corozal Town, Thursday October 11, 2012 -The Corozal Bay Sailing Club invites you to
attend the 6th BzSA Regatta, on Sunday 14, October 2012 to be held on the beautiful waters of Corozal Bay. Sailors and cheerleaders from the Belize Sailing Association Clubs will also be able to participate in the Festival de La Hispanidad y El Mestizaje organised by the Corozal Organisation Leading Culture History and Art (COLCHA).
The course will be between the Miami Beach Park and Corozal House of Culture Pier/Rotary Park marked by buoys and flags. There will be racing available for all classes and no boat will be turned away once it is deemed sea worthy and registered by 9:00 A.M the day of the event.
Our members from Placencia, San Pedro, Belize City and everyone around the country are invited to celebrate this unique cultural event in Corozal. Sailing has long been a part of the Belizean heritage but was becoming a lost tradition with the younger generation. The Belize Sailing Association and its member clubs have been successful in their efforts to help revive this lost art. We are very grateful for the invitation from COLCHA to partner with them in making this event a reality.
In addition to the Regatta, the Festival will showcase the music, the art, and crafts of the Corozalenos. Food and drinks will also be on sale. Come out and celebrate life in Corozal.
