Garifuna Settlement Day showcases the rich, unique Garifuna culture with the commemoration of their first arrival in Belize in 1832. Dance along to local punta music and watch the re-enactment of the first settlers sailing into one of the ports.
The Garifuna flag is raised throughout the country, a mix of yellow, white and black. Yellow is for the sun, white represents peace and black is the color of the people.
