Villagers set up stalls at the beaches of Hopkins Village in the Stann Creek District where visitors can enjoy mangoes as the main ingredient in a variety of cultural dishes.
The abundance of mangoes, in Belize, during its high season, triggers a wave of tantalizing aromas, particularly in Southern Belize where it’s harvesting and growth is on a large scale.
Mango Festival Activities are set to include:
- A dory race
- Mango eating competitions
- Children’s relay race
- Volleyball
- Greasy pole climbing
- Mango throwing contest
- Adult & children’s dance contest
- Crowning of the Mango King and Queen
