Hickatee offers the best of both worlds: award-winning guesthouse accommodation in a lovely jungle setting, yet only a couple of miles from ‘downtown’ Punta Gorda. Intentionally small and decidedly quiet, Hickatee has just six rooms, ranging in size and price from the Hickatee Den to our Honeymoon Suite. Charlie’s Bar is at the heart of our home, acting as reception, bar, meeting area, and restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. We have over a mile of nature trails on site offering good birding opportunities, regular sightings of our resident troop of howler monkeys, and assorted other critters.
We’re family-run and love our job – if you can call living in the jungle and meeting great people a job. We’re here to make sure you go away having had a great time, to help book tours and advise on activities so that you can best experience the natural wonders of Toledo, and our rich range of cultures. Basically, if we can, we will...
Hickatee is off-grid and mainly solar-powered so don’t expect hairdryers, a/c, or cable TV. What you can expect is good old-fashioned hospitality - comfortable rooms, a low-key relaxed atmosphere, and personal service. We pride ourselves on giving excellent value for money, and we include wifi, use of bikes, Garifuna drumming lessons, and visits to Fallen Stones Butterfly Farm in our rates, along with other 'freebies'..
Read our reviews, visit our website, or take a look at our Facebook page to see if we are right for you, and then let us help you plan your Toledo experience.
"Hickatee Cottages is probably the best value for the quality of accommodations in the whole country of Belize!"
