Where to Stay

Come to Belize to experience the spectacular natural attractions, choose the ambience, service level and budget you want to do it on.

The choice of resorts, condominiums, vacation home, lodges, liveaboards, inns, guesthouses and camp sites that have evolved in Belize from the earliest start of tourism in San Pedro, Ambergris caye where hospitable Belizeans opened their homes to visitors thrilled by the fishing and diving opportunities.

Today over 600 registered accommodations offer approximately 6000 rooms from luxury to budget, from homestays to exclusive villas and vacation homes.  There are only a few large properties (100+ rooms) and only two major hotel chains - the Radisson Fort George and the Belize Biltmore Belize Western - in Belize City. Most hotels have taken on the personalities and charm of their individual owners and visitors will find that while they may all end up at the same attractions, their choice of where to stay is largely a matter of the atmosphere, range of amenities and budget level being sought.

  • The Belize Accommodation Directory lists all licensed hotels in Belize and is searchable by destination, price range and keyword.
  • The Toucan Trail is a complete website for Budget travelers looking to spend under $60US/night for a hotel room.
