Vacation Planner

Belize is a great vacation choice any time of year and the choice of when to visit is totally up to you, your budget, and the experience you seek.

Some visitors plan on the spur of the moment while others like to have all the details in regard to the best time of year to visit Belize, how to plan the itinerary, what to pack and other travel trips.

With so many destination and activity choices, a little research and planning will help you get the most out of your Belize vacation.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • The winter months of the Northern Hemisphere - November through May - attract the most visitors to warm and sunny Belize. This is also the "dry season" in Belize.
  • There is more rainfall during the months of June to October but "rainy season" is somewhat of a misnomer.  While there may be occasional showers - often at night - the showers cool down the temperatures and seldom cause major interruptions to vacation itineraries.
  • Read up on your topic of interest before your trip (e.g. travel guides in print or online, online forums....).
  • Send around your vacation interests and/or proposed itinerary to a variety of operators and accommodations to be able to compare costs and services.
  • Many deposits and prepayments are non-refundable so you might want to consider trip insurance from your local provider in the event that unforeseen events cause you to have to cancel.

Please note that all hotels, tour operators and guides are required to be licensed by the Belize Tourism Board. The Belize Tourism Board, with the assistance of educational institutions and other tourism groups, holds training and certification programs several times a year throughout the country.
