Belize's Prime Minister, Hon. Said Musa, pledged Belize's full support in the war against international terrorism, and reaffirmed the Belizean Government's commitment to collaborate with friendly governments, the United Nations and other multi-lateral agencies in ensuring that those responsible for committing such horrendous acts are swiftly brought to justice.

In his State of the Nation address, Prime Minister Musa expressed his sympathies on behalf of the government and people of Belize: "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the innocent civilians and brave rescue workers killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States of America. We pray for all victims of terror and senseless violence." Belizeans continue to mourn the loss of friends and family whose lives were cut short in this tragedy.
