4 Things in Belize to be thankful for

Ah, November. The month of mashed potatoes, turkey and the unavoidable family dramas that accompany dinner like a side of macaroni (for our American pals, at least.) As another Thanksgiving rolls around, we’d like to draw up a little list for all the Belizean things we are grateful for this year. Who knows, they might end up on your list, too!

  1. Belizean Cuisine. Without preamble, undoubtedly the one thing everyone can agree on to be thankful for this year is the food in Belize. Though you might not be as grateful for the extra pounds you gained while eating all the fry jacks and salbutes, there’s nothing like a warm freshly-made plate of hudut or Orange Walk tacos.
  2. The Weather. Sub-zero temperatures, who? Our most popular months are November and December, and rightly so, since everyone escapes the winter woes to chill on a beach in Belize. Our country rarely changes in temperature from month to month, so you can visit any time of the year and still get that tropical vibe.
  3. Its size. While the saying goes the bigger the better, here in Belize we appreciate our tiny size because it means there are more activities you can complete within your itinerary! From rainforest to reef within literal minutes, you can experience every corner of the Jewel in just a week or two.
  4. Sustainability. Belize has become one of the leading sustainable tourism pioneers in the Caribbean as of late. With the saving of the Barrier Reef, banning single-use plastics, and encouraging all tourists to travel sustainably, Belize strives for more mindful traveling. This is something our people are proud of, and visitors sing their praises on our eco-friendly practices when it comes to tourism.

The list can go on for everything in Belize that makes us proud as a tourist destination, but these are some of the things that undoubtedly we are thankful for this November. For more information on things to do in Belize, email us at info@travelbelize.org or call us toll-free at 1-800-624-0686.
