International Costa Maya Festival 2018

International Costa Maya Festival 2018

By now Belize is known for its umpteen festivals – food, culture, you name it – and the International Costa Maya Festival is no doubt the highlight of the country’s “La Isla Bonita.” Otherwise known as Ambergris Caye, La Isla Bonita will host its annual festival which spotlights delegates from all over Central America vying for the Costa Maya crown!

The festival, which originally debuted in 1992, is a testament to the celebration of the Maya World. This year, the international pageant will feature 8 empowering beauts from the alluring Mundo Maya countries of Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama. Every year, these women grace the stage, stunning audiences with their innovative costumes and extraordinary talents. A focal point of the festival this year is the iconic headliner Ivy Queen, known as the Queen of Reggaeton. No festival is complete without dance, the event being infused with favorite Belizean dances such as Punta, Soca and other explosive melodies.
