Belize Birding Festival

The annual Belize Birding Festival brings together amateur and expert birdwatchers for a full day of activities celebrating Belize’s incredible birding opportunities. This three-part event features a guided birding tour, educational presentations, and an educational exhibition.

The day begins with registered participants visiting selected sites to spot colors and listen for the distinctive calls of birds. From forest reserves to wetlands, birders can grab their binoculars to observe migratory and resident species among the more than 500 bird species found in Belize.

Following the tour, local and international speakers and experts share insights on birding best practices and other engaging topics designed to educate and develop birding skills. Meanwhile, NGOs such as the Belize Audubon Society, Belize Tourism Industry Association, and Belize Hotel Association, along with private entities, host display booths to promote bird-based tourism, educate the public about Belize’s avian diversity, and offer birding equipment for sale.

Whether you’re a bird enthusiast or simply curious to learn something new, the Belize Birding Festival offers an engaging and educational experience for all.
