While lionfish are striking to look at, they are an invasive species that threaten the health of Belize’s marine ecosystems. Through lionfish mitigation efforts, Belize is helping to protect reef habitats, support biodiversity, and preserve one of the country’s most valuable natural resources for future generations: the Belize Barrier Reef.
