WELCOME TO HOPKINS

Hopkins is known as the cultural centre of the Garifuna community. From the delectable cuisines to the mesmerizing beats of the drums, immerse yourself in the culture when meeting the locals. Do a Garifuna cooking class to transform cassava, coconuts, plantains, and fish into tasty hudut or a warm cup of sahou. Take a chance at the Garifuna drums, learning the various genres of music like Paranda and Punta. You may even feel tempted to groove your hips or move alongside a Jankunu dancer!

Aside from its cultural vibrancy, check out the over 100,000 acres of preserved jungles and rivers within the famous Maya Mountains, or head to Hopkins Beach for a relaxing day!
