Belize Birding Festival
The Belize Birding Festival is back for its third year! Amateur and expert bird watchers gather for a full day of fun activities about feathery friends in Belize. The three-part event comprises a birding tour, presentations, and an outdoor exhibition. The day would start with registered participants walking or transporting to various sites to look out for the vibrant colors or listen out for the warbling sounds of the birds at places like the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary or Guanacaste National Park. From forest reserves to wetlands, grab your binoculars to look at a few migratory and resident birds from the over 500 species found in-country!
Following the tour, local and international speakers and experts present for those interested in birding best practices and other engaging topics to develop skills and educate. Meanwhile, NGOs like the Belize Audubon Society, Belize Tourism Industry Association, and Belize Hotel Association, along with private entities, have display booths to increase awareness of bird-based tourism, educate the public about the birds of Belize, and have birding equipment on sale!
