Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic

The Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic is an annual tradition that attracts cyclists from across the country and region! The race has been around for over 90 years and is the longest one-day cycling event in the western hemisphere. From Belize City at Digi Park, with a lead out to mile-3 on the George Price Highway, cyclists journey the 144-mile-long journey to and from San Ignacio Town, hoping to be a part of history as the champion. The Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic draws spectators from nearby villages, those traveling, and online viewers, filled with adrenaline, cheering on their favorite team and guessing who will be the next cross-country cycling champ!

Route

  • START: At the B.T.L Park (Marine Parade Blvd) at 6:00 a.m.; riders sprint for the hills of the west, San Ignacio Town, Cayo District!
  • Half-Way-Point: Riders return to Belize City after reaching the Hawkesworth Bridge in San Ignacio Town, Cayo District.
  • FINISH LINE: Cyclists will cross the finish line in Belize City at the B.T.L Park (Marine Parade Blvd).
