San Ignacio

Belize introduces a new FREE online arrival and departure immigration and customs declaration system, allowing you to complete and submit your entry form before traveling to Belize.

THE GATEWAY TO ADVENTURE

Just 67 miles from Belize City, San Ignacio is the largest town in the Cayo District, connected to its twin town, Santa Elena, by the Hawkesworth Bridge- the only suspension bridge in the country.

With plenty of accommodations catered to adventurers, it’s great for exploring Maya temples and cave systems in the Western part of the country. After a long day of caving, horseback riding, kayaking or hiking, rejuvenate in this hub full of friendly people and great food.

San Ignacio

Aside from the myriad of adventures in Western Belize, San Ignacio is known for its variety of mouth-watering cuisines, whether you’re dining in a luxe restaurant, a nearby mom & pop, or a stall in the heart of the market with breakfast.

Market days are highly anticipated for good deals on fresh fruits and vegetables, clothing, and hidden gem trinkets. It’s a family-friendly jewel in Belize, easy to get around when you’re ready to unwind after a couple of days of thrilling tours.
