Crooked Tree Tilapia and Bird Festival
Take a trip to the rural community of Crooked Tree Village for the Tilapia and Bird Festival in the Belize district. This family-friendly, weekend-long event is situated along the banks of the Crooked Tree Lagoon. It is organized by the Crooked Tree Village Council, in collaboration with the Belize Audubon Society, promoting bird-based tourism and the unique flavours of tilapia.

An assortment of sides complements the fish of your choice, including rice and beans, stew beans and white rice, vegetable rice, flour tortillas, and macaroni salad. Furthermore, visitors can savour local delicacies such as puddings and stewed fruits.
Watch the fun activities, like tug-of-war, the Tilapia cook-off competition, mechanical bull riding, and a thrilling 4×4 mud competition. Spectate the Tilapia King and Queen dancing competition, followed by a high-energy evening dance featuring popular local performers.
